The Colorado Extreme 12U team is embarking on an incredible journey to represent their community and state at the prestigious Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. Taking place this February, the tournament, held in Quebec City, Canada, is the most iconic youth hockey event in the world, drawing top 12U teams from around the globe for an unforgettable experience of competition and cultural exchange.
For over six decades, the Quebec tournament has welcomed aspiring young players, some of whom have gone on to become NHL stars. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the tournament, making Colorado Extreme’s invitation particularly special. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for these kids,” said Sheldon Wolitski, founder of Colorado Extreme. “Not only will they get to compete at a high level, but they’ll also experience the unique hockey culture of Quebec, form new friendships, and make memories that will last a lifetime.”
The tournament isn’t only about the games. Colorado Extreme players will be billeted with local families in Quebec, offering them a glimpse into Canadian culture while also forging connections with fellow hockey players from different countries. Between games, they’ll explore historic Quebec City, attend events, and take part in activities designed to bring teams together and celebrate their love for hockey.
Preparation for the Quebec tournament has been in full swing, with the team training under the guidance of dedicated coaches and mentors. Colorado Extreme has also partnered with a local sponsor to design custom gear for the players, which will reflect both their team pride and the significance of the 65th anniversary tournament.
The entire Colorado Extreme community has rallied around this effort, helping the 12U team get ready for the big stage. Fundraising events, sponsorships, and community support have all contributed to making this journey possible. As the team counts down to their departure, excitement is building across Carbondale and beyond.
Stay tuned as the Colorado Extreme 12U team represents our region on an international stage, showcasing not only their skill and determination but also the spirit and support of their community.
